Location

The beautiful villa is located in eastern Tuscany, in Valtiberina, not far from Arezzo.

As the name suggests, Valtiberina is the valley of the River Tiber, which flows through various Italian regions. Tuscan Valtiberina is rich in ancient churches, castles and monasteries, most of which are situated between Anghiari and Caprese Michelangelo. Some of the most interesting places are the castle of Montauto, the Pieve of Santa Maria a Sovara, the Pieve of Santa Maria a Corsano, the Pieve of San Cassiano, the Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo in Badia Tedalda, the hermitage of Madonna del Faggio and the hermitage of Montecasale, where Saint Francis of Assisi staid in 1213 and 1224.

Valtiberina hosts also many folkloric events, some of which - the Giostra del Saracino and the Palio della Balestra, which take place in September in Arezzo and Sansepolcro, respectively - are widely renowned. At the end of June, in Anghiari takes place the Palio della Vittoria, in memory of the famous battle that Leonardo da Vinci depicted in a lost painting on the walls of the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio (Florence).


Description

The beautiful villa was in origin a farmhouse, as the brick beamed ceilings and the terracotta-tiled floors (both typical elements of the traditional Tuscan rustic style) suggest. The 16th-century house has been recently renovated with an eye to preserving its original architecture.

The villa commands the surrounding mountains and hills; upper Arezzo and its famous cathedral are to be seen in the distance and are easily reached by car. The villa is an excellent departure point for visiting not only the towns of Valtiberina - Sansepolcro, Anghiari, Caprese Michelangelo -, but also Florence, Siena, Pisa and Lucca. Sporty guests can play tennis or ride on horseback at the tennis club or the riding stable in proximity to the property.

The private swimming pool (6x13 m; depth: 0.50-1.50 m) lies in the wide fully fenced park that surrounds the villa. An outside bathroom is next to the swimming pool.
A loggia is furnished for having meals in the open air while enjoying the wonderful view of the surrounding mountains.


Accommodation

The villa is a one-storey building split into two apartments; in total, it can accommodate 10+2 guests in 2 twin bedrooms, 3 double bedrooms and 1 double sofa bed and has 5 bathrooms.

Apartment 1 consists of kitchen corner, living room and two double bedrooms with private bathroom with shower. Outside the apartment, about eight metres from the main door are a twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower.

Apartment 2 composes of kitchen, living room with double sofa bed, a twin bedroom with private bathroom, a double bedroom and a corridor with a bathroom.

The villa comes with swimming pool, outside bathroom, barbecue, Internet connection, satellite TV, air conditioning, microwave oven, fridge, electric oven, coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, washing machine, hair dryer, cot beds and covered car parking place.
A cook and a domestic help are available upon request.

Shops and services of any kind are within 500 metres from the villa.
A tennis club is 1 kilometre from the estate.
A riding stable is 12 kilometres from the property.
