Farmhouses

Description

The farmhouse stands on the hills of southern Tuscany, in Sorano (Grosseto), in Maremma, between Lake Bolsena and Mount Amiata. The area is rich in Etruscan archaeological sites, including the famous rocky settlement of Vitozza, and the building itself clings to a rocky face in which the Etruscan dug many caves. Pitigliano, Saturnia and Sovana are within short driving distance. A riding stable, a tennis club and the spas of Sorano are just a few kilometres from the farmhouse.

The estate is divided into two terraces. The majestic 18th-century tufa building stands on the lower terrace together with a wood-burning oven, a well and the entrances to the ancient Etruscan caves. The private swimming pool (5x10 m; depth: 1.25-1.35 m) is about 10 metres from the building. The old stable situated next to the farmhouse has been converted into a room for parties and dinners.
An orchard and a vegetable garden are on the upper terrace.


Accommodation

The two-storey building is divided into two apartments; it sleeps 10+6 people in 2 twin bedrooms, 3 double bedrooms, 4 supplementary single beds and 2 single sofa beds; it has 3 bathrooms.
The apartment on the ground floor consists in a living room with two single sofa beds, the kitchen, a twin bedroom, a double bedroom and two bathrooms.
The apartment on the first floor consists in a living room, the kitchen, a twin bedroom, two double bedrooms and a bathroom.
Upon request, there is the possibility of adding four supplementary single beds in the bedrooms.


Facilities and Services

The farmhouse comes with swimming pool, barbecue, wood-burning oven, Internet connection, working fireplace, puzzles and books for children, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, bicycles and private car parking space.
Maid, baby-sitting and breakfast services are supplied upon request.

Food shops, cafes, restaurants and a post office are in Onano (3 km).
A riding stable and a tennis club are within 8 kilometres of the farmhouse.
