Description

Long walks and bike rides are waiting for the nature lovers who decide to stay at the ancient hermitage situated in Val di Cecina, in Monterufoli Nature Reserve, in Pomarance (Pisa), which has been converted into a holiday farmhouse.

A green 45-hectare wood rich in paths surrounds the building. One of the paths leads to a lake with water lilies, which in the past was the source the friars living in the hermitage drew water from.

After having visited one of the many tourist destinations within easy driving distance, including Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano, Lucca and Siena, or the small villages of Querceto and Micciano, guests can relax taking a bath in the private swimming pool (9.50x5.50 m; depth: 1.35 m) or in the whirlpool swimming pool, or playing bowls and volleyball.

The wide panoramic terrace commands the surrounding countryside and the Etruscan Coast in the distance.


Accommodation

The farmhouse features 3 quadruple bedrooms, 2 bedrooms sleeping six and 1 twin bedroom organized according to the principles of "feng-shui". Although the farmhouse can sleep 26, the owners prefer to accommodate groups from 16 to 20 people only. The farmhouse has 6 bathrooms and 1 half bathroom.
The living area is on the ground floor and consists in kitchen; living room with terracotta stove and fireplace; dining room with fireplace; a second living room. On the ground floor are also a room with double bed (convertible into two single beds), double sofa bed and ensuite bathroom, and another bathroom.
On the first floor are a room with canopied bed, double sofa bed and ensuite bathroom; a room with three bunk beds; a room with double bed (convertible into two single beds), two double sofa beds and ensuite bathroom; a room with two single beds (convertible into a double bed) with ensuite half bathroom.
A room with double bed (convertible into two single beds), double sofa bed and ensuite bathroom is in the tower.
The "sacred cave" on the basement floor has been transformed into a room devoted to wine tasting.

The farmhouse comes with swimming pool, whirlpool swimming pool, bowls and volleyball pitches, swing, barbecue, wood-burning oven, working fireplace, Internet connection, satellite TV, DVD player, fridge, freezer, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine, bicycles, private car parking place.
The following services are available upon request: maid, baby-sitter and cook.
