Location

The farmhouse is located near the border between Tuscany and Umbria, a few kilometres from Cortona.

Cortona is a small town of Etruscan origin renowned for having been the place where Francis Mayes has set her bestseller "Under the Tuscan Sun" as well as painter Luca Signorelli's birthplace.

Perched on a hill commanding Valdichiana up to Lake Trasimeno, Cortona is a town rich in art, history and culture. Piazza della Repubblica - with the Palazzo del Capitano and the Palazzo Comunale -, the Duomo and the Museo Diocesano - which houses several masterpieces by Beato Angelico and Luca Signorelli - are real must-sees. The Basilica of Santa Margherita, situated in the upper part of the town, is worth a visit as well. The church is dedicated to Cortona patron saint.


Description

Situated in a scenery location near Cortona, the 19th-century farmhouse is an excellent accommodation for those who want to relax in the peaceful Tuscan countryside and at the same time would like to visit Arezzo, Montepulciano, Siena, Perugia and many other Tuscan and central-Italy cities of art. Lake Trasimeno is just a few kilometres from the property and is easily reached by car.

Both the garden that surrounds the building and the private swimming pool (10x5 m; depth: 1.20-1.50 m) are fully fenced. The swimming pool is surrounded by a large solarium area and equipped with a gazebo, a table and some chairs. An external shower is by the poolside.

A dining area with table and chairs is arranged in the covered veranda in front of the kitchen.

A laundry corner and a masonry barbecue are at guests' disposal.


Accommodation

The two-storey building can accommodate 8 guests in 3 double bedrooms and 1 double sofa bed, and has 3 bathrooms.

The ground floor composes of kitchen, living room with double sofa bed, dining area and wood-burning stove, living room with fireplace and a bathroom with shower.
On the first floor are a double bedroom with a private bathroom with whirlpool shower, two more double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower.

The kitchen has a direct access to the covered veranda.
The first floor is accessed also via an external staircase.
Two of the bedrooms are air conditioned.

The farmhouse comes with swimming pool with wide solarium area, external shower, masonry barbecue, wood-burning stove, fireplace, air conditioning, satellite TV, microwave oven, oven, freezer, wine cooler, dishwasher, washing machine, whirlpool shower, cot bed and private car parking area.
A domestic help is available upon request.

Shops and services of any kind are 6 kilometres from the farmhouse.
