Description

The mountains of Pratomagno, the hills of Chianti and the valley of the Arno River: that is the panorama the villa situated 300 metres above sea level in Upper Valdarno, in Rignano sull`Arno (Florence), opens onto.

The villa, which in the first half of the 20th century was the summer residence of the celebrated physicist Enrico Fermi, is an elegant building constructed in the 18th century that has been recently renovated with an eye to preserving its original style. Around the villa stretch 40 hectares of land covered with olive trees and vines, and an enormous park.

The garden features a children`s playground with tricycles and a swing, a barbecue and a table for guests to have their meals al fresco while admiring the surrounding countryside.

Between a tennis match at the tennis club just a few kilometres from the villa and a horseback excursion, or between the visit to the Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi and a trip to one of the many Tuscan cities of art that are easily reached by car (Siena, Florence, Arezzo), guests can relax by the private swimming pool (12x6 m; depth: 1.50 m), equipped with deck chairs and gazebos.

The large decorated living rooms and the wide garden are a wonderful background for ceremonies and weddings.


Accommodation

The two-storey building composes of kitchen, three decorated living rooms with fireplace, five double bedrooms (two on the ground floor and one with a double sofa bed) and for bathrooms, and sleeps 12 people.
Three bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom.

The villa comes with swimming pool, swing, bicycles and tricycles, barbecue equipment, working fireplaces, Internet connection, microwave oven, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, cot bed and private car parking space.
A cook, a maid, a baby-sitter and a breakfast service are supplied upon request.
Guests can purchase the olive oil, wine and goods produced in the farm.

A riding stable and a tennis club are within 4.5 kilometres from the villa.
