Location

The beautiful villa is located in the Tuscan countryside between Empoli and Florence, near Montelupo Fiorentino.

Vinci, the birthplace of the celebrated Leonardo, hosts the Museo Ideale Leonardo da Vinci and the Museo Leonardiano. Both museums display several models of machines reconstructed from the artist's designs.

The Museo Archeologico e della Ceramica di Montelupo in Montelupo Fiorentino hosts a collection of archaeological finds from Val di Pesa and Valdarno, as well as ceramics produced in the area and items from the ancient Mediterranean civilisations.

A stay at the villa offers also the opportunity to visit Certaldo, the town that gave birth to the famous Italian writer and poet Giovanni Boccaccio.


Description

In origin the villa was a mill that has been renovated and transformed into a lodging for holidays in the Tuscan countryside.

Florence and its wonderful monuments as well as Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca and many other cities of historic and artistic interest are within easy driving distance for pleasant one-day jaunts.

The private swimming pool (4x11 m; depth: 1.80 m) in the wide garden overlooking the surrounding countryside is exclusively reserved to guests.

The building is part of a farm and guests have the opportunity to visit the cellars and taste the wine and olive oil produced in the property upon request.

In case of need, guests can contact the owners of the villa, who live nearby.


Accommodation

The two-storey building can accommodate 16+2 guests in 8 double bedrooms and 1 double sofa bed, and has 8 bathrooms and 1 toilet.

On the ground floor are the entrance hall with fireplace, a living room with kitchen corner and a toilet.
The first floor composes of six double bedrooms with private bathroom with shower. A small kitchen corner, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower are seven steps below.
A small apartment consisting of entrance, dining area with kitchen corner and double sofa bed, a double bedroom (with a direct access to the garden) and a bathroom with shower is accessed from the outside.

The villa comes with swimming pool, ceiling fans, fireplace, satellite TV, telephone, Internet connection, electric cooker, oven, juicer, dishwasher, washing machine, hair dryer, safe, cot bed and private car parking place.
A domestic help is available upon request.
Some mountain bikes are for rent.
Tastings of the produce of the farm, guided tours of the cellars and walks in the property are organised upon request.

Some food shops are 4 kilometres from the villa.
Shops and services of any kind are 5 kilometres from the farm.
