Location

The villa is situated in a charming burg that already existed in Charlemagne`s times near Barberino Val d`Elsa, a small medieval town halfway from Florence and Siena.

Barberino Val d`Elsa town walls were probably built using the stones from the defensive system of a nearby town the Florentine army destroyed in the early 13th century. The elliptical plan of Barberino Val d`Elsa demonstrates the medieval origin of the town.


Description

The complex consists of various buildings dating from the 13th century immersed in the peaceful Tuscan countryside and surrounded by a wide garden. A sauna, a dressing room and a bathroom are at guests` disposal in one of the buildings.
Next to the swimming pool (6x14 m; depth: 1.40 m) equipped with sun loungers and sunshades is a pergola; a second pergola furnished with armchairs and settees commands a wonderful view of the surrounding hills.
A gazebo furnished for guests to have their meals outdoor is on the panoramic terrace that connects the buildings.

A tennis club, a riding stable and a golf club are in proximity to the villa. The complex is also an excellent point of departure for visiting Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Monteriggioni, Florence and many other Tuscan cities of art.


Accommodation

The complex composes of various buildings; in total it can accommodate 28 guests in 1 twin bedroom and 13 double bedrooms and has 14 bathrooms and 1 half bathroom.

A building is divided into two living rooms; kitchen; a suite composed of a twin bedroom, a double bedroom and a bathroom with whirlpool bathtub; three double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom; a bathroom with shower; a half bathroom.
The apartment in the second building consists of living room with kitchenette, a double bedroom and a bathroom with bathtub and shower.
In the third building there is an apartment composed of living room with kitchenette and two double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom.
The fourth building consists of kitchen; two living rooms; a suite composed of living room, a double bedroom and a bathroom; five double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom.

One of the double bedrooms in the fourth building is accessible to disabled people.

The villa comes with swimming pool, sauna, barbecue, Internet connection, satellite TV, air conditioning, whirlpool bathtub, microwave oven, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, cot beds and private car parking space.
A cook, a baby sitter, a maid and a breakfast service are supplied upon request.

A restaurant is just a few dozen metres from the villa, whereas shops and services of any kind are within 3 kilometres.
A riding stable and a tennis club are 4 kilometres from the property.
A golf club is 10 kilometres from the estate.
