Location

The beautiful villa is just a few kilometres from the historic centre of Florence, the wonderful Tuscan city of art renowned all over the world.

Florence was founded in 59 BC as a village for Roman veterans and in the early 12th century became a free commune. In the following century and for a long time afterwards, Florence political life was shook by the struggle between Guelphs and Ghibellines and then, after the defeat of the latter, by that between white and black Guelphs.

Thanks to the Medici family, who ascended to power for the first time in 1434 and then again in the 16th century, Florence experienced a period of cultural development, which attracted to the Tuscan town all the most important artists and scientists of the time - including Botticelli, Brunelleschi, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Pico della Mirandola and Galileo Galilei.

Florence is renowned in the world as the cradle of Renaissance, the period of great artistic, scientific and literary ferment between the 14th and the 16th century during which great artworks, such as Brunelleschi's dome, Masaccio's frescoes in the Cappella Brancacci, Lorenzo Ghiberti's "Gate of Paradise" and the "Allegory of Spring" and the "Birth of Venus" by Botticelli, were produced.


Description

Florence and the hills west of the capital town of Tuscany: that is the wonderful panorama the swimming pool and the windows of the ancient villa situated in the Natural Park of Monte Morello open onto. In the past the villa belonged to the Reverend Nuns of San Salvi.

The recently renovated building erected between the 11th and the 13th century is surrounded by a huge 80,000-square-metre park divided into orchards, olive groves, grassland and woodland. The park includes an ancient water spring.
In the fully-fenced park furnished for having meals al fresco are the private swimming pool (5x12 m; depth: 1.40 m) and a whirlpool bathtub.

The villa is the ideal solution for those who wish to visit Florence and at the same time want to live a few kilometres out of town, as well as an excellent departure point for visiting Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Arezzo and many other Tuscan cities of art.
A golf club, a riding stable and a tennis club are within a few kilometres of the estate.


Accommodation

The three-level building can accommodate 11+2 guests in 1 single bedroom, 5 double bedrooms, 1 futon bed and 1 supplementary single bed, and has 6 bathrooms and 1 half bathroom.

The first level composes of kitchen, living room, dining room with fireplace, laundry room, two double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom and a single bedroom with ensuite half bathroom.
On the lower level are a wide salon, two double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom and a third bathroom.
The ground floor consists of a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom.

A futon bed and a supplementary single bed can be added in two of the double bedrooms.

The villa comes with panoramic swimming pool, whirlpool bathtub, barbecue, table-tennis table, mountain bikes, badminton, working fireplace, satellite TV, Internet connection, darts, board games, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine, safe, hair dryer, cot bed, high chair and private car parking place.

A domestic help, a cook, a breakfast and a shuttle service to/from the airport and the railway station are available upon request.
