Location

The castle is located in the Chianti region, just a few kilometres from the monuments of Florence historic centre.
A stay at the castle could be an excellent occasion not only to relax having long walks in the Tuscan countryside, but also to visit Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery, Piazzale Michelangelo, the church of Santa Croce, the basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore (the Duomo of Florence) and Giotto`s bell tower, to watch a Calcio Storico (or calcio in costume) match, or to taste the dishes of traditional Florentine cuisine in one of the many trattorias in the Oltrarno district.


Description

The castle stands on a hill in the municipality of San Casciano Val di Pesa. It has been declared a "Residenza d`Epoca" (that is, a historic manor house) and affords a magnificent view over the surrounding vineyards and olive groves.
This wonderful example of medieval castle was built in the 10th century and then was converted into a residential villa in the second half of the 15th century.

The building is surrounded by a garden in which are the private swimming pool (11x4 m; depth: 3 m), exclusively reserved to guests, the barbecue equipment and a table for having meals al fresco.
Around the castle stretch 30 hectares of woodland where guests can have relaxing walks.


Accommodation

The castle can accommodate up to 20 guests in 8 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom and 2 single bedrooms, and has 10 bathrooms.

The ground floor composes of an entry hall, a central hall, the kitchen, a living room with fireplace, a second living room, the dining room with fireplace, the laundry room, a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a second bathroom.
The mezzanine is divided into a living room and three double bedroom with their own private bathroom.
On the first floor are a game room, a living room, four double bedrooms (two with ensuite bathroom), a twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom, two single bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Two loggias command the swimming pool and the valley below.
