The Chianti region is a spectacular display of colours. If you like the wind in the hair, you could get to Chianti by train arriving at Poggibonsi or Castellina in Chianti (www.ferroviedellostato.com), or by coach - SITA line 365 connects Florence to Greve, Radda, Castellina and Gaiole (www.acvbus.it/index.php?SEZ=9). Then, you could rent a motorcycle, a scooter or, which is even better, a romantic and evergreen "Vespa", which was born in Tuscany in the late 40s.
